Keeping up with the Joneses

This is our life... I love having lots of friends over and partying until I feel like kicking them out. We also have worship nights at our home; we invite anyone and everyone and worship our King. Usually God does awesome things on these nights. We are involved in a ministry called the Lewis House it and out reach to the Toledo Sylvania Lewis community. We just moved in to the neighborhood to create a sense of community,we will open our home up to people for dinner. God has just blessed us with the best friends anyone could have I have been married for almost 6 wonderful years and I love my beautiful wife, she truly is my soul mate. We get each other. We have to boys Elijah ! and Mathais 1 month. We are both musicians; Kristina has mastered the violin. She can play anything, and has a voice that will open Heaven.God has gifted her in amazing ways, she doesn't just play music but she opens her ears to heaven.. Now for me, humm... I play piano, guitar and any drum.I love music, Kristina and I both write music. We both lead worship at the Lewis House on Friday nights Organic Church. My wife is a social worker currently a Stay at home mom. and I work for Promedica Health System as a PSA I also do freelance graphic design. Thank God for a wife that believes in me and stands firm with me. Already I see the favor of God all over this.

The hard truth...

It is estimated there are between 143 million and 210 million orphans worldwide (recent UNICEF report.)

The current population of the United States is just a little over 300 million… to give you an idea of the enormity of the numbers… (The current population of Russia is 141 million)

Every day 5,760 more children become orphans

2,102,400 more children become orphans every year in Africa alone

Every 15 seconds, another child in Africa becomes an AIDS orphan

There are an estimated 14 million AIDS orphans in Sub-Saharan Africa (a number higher than the total of every under-eighteen year old in Canada, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Ireland combined)

This figure is estimated to reach 18 million orphans in Africa alone by 2010 (only two and a half years away)

8 out of 10 children orphaned by AIDS lives in sub-saharan Africa

Approximately 250,000 children are adopted annually, but…

Each year 14, 505, 000 children grow up as orphans and age out of the system by age sixteen

Each day 38,493 orphans age out

Every 2.2 seconds another orphan ages out with no family to belong to and no place to call home

    Those are sobering statistics.

We've been reading about fatherhood recently and some of the statistics about problems related to fatherless children. I'll have to see if I can find them for you...
